Brandon Roy selected to 2nd straight All-Star Game

Brandon Roy was named a 2009 NBA All-Star reserve by a vote of Western Conference head coaches, the NBA announced today.

The second-time NBA All-Star has helped guide the Trail Blazers to a 28-17 record, averaging 22.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 1.22 steals and 37.1 minutes in 41 games (all starts).Roy, 24, becomes the 10th Trail Blazer to garner multiple All-Star nods after netting 18 points (8-10 FG), nine rebounds, five assists, one steal and 29 minutes in last year’s All-Star Game in New Orleans. His 18 points matched a team high for the Western Conference squad and marked the second-highest total from a Trail Blazer playing in an All-Star Game, all-time.
