Harvest Dinner

Brandon Roy and his Blazers teammates took yesterday as an opportunity to give back to the community that has supported them year after year. The 13th annual Harvest Dinner was held yesterday where volunteers from the Blazers organization teamed up with Make It Better to host a dinner for 5,000 homeless and critically low-income people in the Portland area. Blazers players served food and met with local fans, who also free haircuts, services for their pets, cell phone time, and flu shots.

“The Harvest Dinner is an event our entire staff has committed to for 13 years,” Trail Blazers president Larry Miller said. “We understand that this is a very trying time for so many individuals and families right here in our community, and recognize there is so much we can do to lend an assist.

“Opening our building to provide a meal and necessary services to these folks is just one day and one way we are working with our partners to Make It Better for individuals and families throughout Portland,” Miller said.
